Lando Norris has been released from the University Medical Centre in Las Vegas following his crash Saturday night during the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Norris wrecked on Lap 3 of the race in Turns 11 and 12 of the circuit. It appeared that Norris lost control of his car going into Turn 11, where he hit the wall and then slid into the barriers in Turn 12. Andrea Stella, McLaren team principal, said that a large bump through Turn 11 caused the incident. The bump caused the car to "bottom out," which upset the balance of the car enough for Norris to lose control. This led to the first DNF (did not finish) for Norris in 2023.

McLaren hopes adjustments are made to the course for when they return to Las Vegas in 2024.
Norris was taken to the University Medical Centre in Las Vegas for precautionary reasons. This was just to make sure Norris was in stable condition and there were no underlying issues from the crash.
Having been released from the medical center, Norris is on track to race at Abu Dhabi next weekend.
"Big thanks go to the medical staff for checking me over, and to the team for the work they'll now put in on the car," Norris said. "One week to reset and go again for the season finale in Abu Dhabi."
Norris walked away from his crash at the Las Vegas Grand Prix unscathed and will be competing in Abu Dhabi on Sunday to finish the 2023 Formula 1 season.
