Colin Braun has been a household name in the IMSA ranks for many years now. A lot of things came full circle in 2023, as he was the breakout star during IMSA's 2023 GTP season driving for Meyer Shank Racing's No. 60 Acura ARX-06.

Alongside teammate Tom Blomqvist, who was the team's DPi champion, the two worked together well both in and out of the car. Their three wins and five podiums from nine races showed how well the Blomqvist and Braun combo worked.
In Blomqvist's case, his success for Meyer Shank has boosted him to a full-time role with the team in IndyCar this season. Braun hopes to follow in his footsteps.
Braun spoke with Racer.com about getting the chance he got with Meyer-Shank in 2023.
"For me, 2023 was a great year, obviously," Braun said. "I was really focused on knocking that opportunity out of the park because it was a big shot for me. If you look back over my career, there were times like in 2018 with CORE Autosport where I was able to compete in the top class and had great success, so it was great to be back in the top class and re-show what I know I'm capable of doing."
As for how he feels about hopefully getting a shot in IndyCar like Blomqvist, Braun made it very clear that it has always been his dream.
"It's no secret from my side that I've always been really interested in trying to put together an IndyCar program," Braun said. "I did NASCAR for five years, and then it was back to sports car racing, and throughout that whole time, I've always really wanted to get a chance at the IndyCar side, and I feel like my driving style would certainly suit the current IndyCars really well. This is exactly where I want to race and I'm trying to find a way to get in."
Whether he gets that shot or not, Braun can count on Blomqvist pulling for him to get an opportunity. The pair made great teammates driving the same car, imagine how well they would do as teammates racing in IndyCar.
