These days, comedian and actor Bill Murray always has a rooting interest when it comes to college basketball. That's because Murray's son, Luke Murray, is an assistant coach under Dan Hurley with the Connecticut Huskies.

And for UConn, it truly was like Groundhog's Day, topping Purdue on Monday to become the NCAA's first repeat champions since Florida did it back in 2007.
Luke is Bill Murray's second-oldest child and was considered a major part of the program's success in his second season. He worked under Hurley at both Wagner and Rhode Island, and has 14 years of being an assistant under his belt. He also spent three years as an assistant at Louisville.
A 2007 graduate of Fairfield, Luke was recently rated as one of the 40 best coaches under 40 by The Athletic. He was also listed as one of the nation's top recruiters by 247 Sports. No word on whether Luke takes his famous father with him on recruiting trips.
Actually, most of the prospects don't realize that Luke is related to Bill. Some are so young, they may not even know who Bill is for sure. But anyone who loves basketball sure knows about UConn.
And that includes Bill Murray.

Nor is this Bill's first experience in basketball. After all, who can forget his iconic role alongside Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny in Space Jam (the good one)? But the hoops experience involving Luke likely means even more to Bill.
