Adam Sandler Hints That John Daly And Tiger Woods Could Be In 'Happy Gilmore' Sequel

As the release of "Happy Gilmore 2" was earlier announced, star Adam Sandler has already started to give some hints at ideas he has for the upcoming sequel to the 1999 golf comedy classic. One of the plans is to include two of the most 'fan favorite' golfers to have ever played the game.

John Daly, 58, and Tiger Woods, 48, names have come up when brainstorming the included characters for the up-and-coming follow-up movie.

While doing one of his frequent appearances on the Dan Patrick Show, Sandler mentioned that writer/producer Tim Herlihy went down to the PGA Tournament this past weekend in Louisville, Kentucky to hang out with Daly. That is when Patrick asked Sandler if we were going to see cigarette smoking golfer on screen.

"I would like to think so," Sandler said on Daly being in the movie. "You never know, but I love him, I always did love him. We'll see."

Then the same question was asked about the 15x major, 82x PGA event winner, Tiger Woods, in which Sandler took a long pause and said, "I'll see what I can do... I would love it, we'll see. I'm gonna write all my dreams and then you never know what's gonna happen."

When asked to give a preview of the plot, about the only thing the Hollywood star confirmed is that he probably will still be playing golf. Since it will be almost 30 years since the original film came out, seemingly Sandler's role as the Happy Gilmore character will include the golfer "being a little older now and still trying to compete with the youngsters," as he himself summarized.

Even the host, Patrick, asked about his own role in the film, in which Sandler told him to open up his schedule for a few days.

To note, Patrick has made an appearance in multiple Sandler movies in the past, and the story of how they met is an interesting one. Sandler told Patrick for the Happy Gilmore sequel that he will play himself in the film.

That is to say, Patrick being the sports broadcaster, commentating on John Daly, Tiger Woods, and Happy Gilmore playing golf is already enough of a plot to get fans excited.
