Darren Waller Says Research About His Zodiac Sign Is Reason For Retirement

Former New York Giants tight end Darren Waller recently announced his retirement after an eight-year NFL playing career. That is to say, the reason the 31-year-old is deciding to hang it up, is somewhat bizarre to say the least.

Waller uploaded a Youtube video, in which he gave a detailed statement on why he was stepping away from football.

Later in the full youtube video, Waller touched on what made him finally realize that he should call it quits.

"You know how people ask for your name, what time you were born, where you were born, and you put that stuff in, and it kind of gives you different information back."

Waller revealed to the world the results of his zodiac test, "It told me that I'm a manifesting generator."

Just like most people, Waller admitted he had no idea what that meant, however, he went on to read the description and said it resonated with him.

"I was like 'okay I have no idea what that means' but reading through it, it's like I'm somebody that will always have multiple passions, multiple ways of expressing myself. And it's very common for me to outgrow certain passions."

Waller, who recently divorced his WNBA wife Kelsey Plum (and made a music video about it), said that learning more about his zodiac sign made him realize he should move onto the next chapter in life.

"The worst possible thing for a manifesting generator, someone like me, would be to think that I am supposed to choose one lane of life, one path and stick with it like most of the world does."

Throughout his tenure with the Ravens, Raiders, and Giants, Waller appeared in 86 games; he caught 350 passes for 4,124 yards, to go with 20 career receiving touchdowns.

Notably, despite battling injuries most of his career, Waller joins Rob Gronkowski and Travis Kelce as the only other NFL tight ends to have back-to-back seasons with 1,100 yards.

The 2020 NFL Pro-Bowl selection spoke with TMZ about his decision, citing no regrets.

"I reached a point where I don't have that 100 percent to give to the process," Waller said. "I don't think that's fair to teammates, or fans, or organizations that are expecting me to give that. That's why I came to the decision I made."

The manifesting generator now has passions in other things besides football, and it appears that fans, whether they like it or not, are going to be seeing a lot more of Waller singing instead of catching passes on Sundays from now on.
