Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is being asked about everything under the sun when all she wants to do is play basketball, improve, and keep all of her fans happy. When it comes to the growing game of women's basketball, nobody has more supporters.

But Clark wants to keep it about the basketball and that is her right. She's not a pawn. She's a person. Clark addressed as much when pressed about it by the media on Thursday.
"People should not be using my name to push those agendas. It's disappointing. It's not acceptable," Clark told reporters. "... Treating every single woman in this league with the same amount of respect, I think, it's just a basic human thing that everybody should do."
She wasn't finished. When asked about unkind comments online, she said those are for other people to read and react.
"I don't put too much thought and time into thinking about things like that, and to be honest, I don't see a lot of it," Clark said. "Basketball is my job. Everything on the outside, I can't control that, so I'm not going to spend time thinking about that."
Good for her. Don't need to talk to anyone about anything other than basketball if you don't want. And it's good to see Clark isn't taking part in some immature social media-driven narrative. The mainstream media, frankly, isn't much better.
And when it comes to basketball, it's very clear that many other WNBA players have an issue with Clark because of the favoritism she is shown by fans and media. What she probably should've said is "Sorry not sorry."
