Ryan Garcia recently defeated Devin Haney by major decision, but received backlash after testing positive for a performance enhancing, banned substance called ostarine. That is to say, despite claiming his innocence amid the doping dispute, the 25-year-old has made the decision to step away from his boxing career.

I’m officially retired

Garcia also went on to share other posts expressing his sentiments.
"I'll still be training but I'm hurt and done with it and everyone," Garcia wrote on his X account. "The sad part is I'm a great boxer. And I entertain and knock people out. I'm sad bc I (love) boxing."
Ever since Garcia defeated the WBC super lightweight champ Haney, he has had a list of struggles. To point out, just last week the superstar boxer was arrested on a felony vandalism charge in Beverly Hills. Police say Garcia was intoxicated and caused damage to the Waldorf Astoria hotel while staying as a guest.
His lawyer, Darin Chavez, released a statement to ESPN.
"Ryan has been open about his struggles with mental health over the years, and at this time he is dealing with an immense emotional burden. The support and understanding from fans and the public are crucial as he navigates these personal challenges."
In spite of facing hardships, Garcia says he will be resilient through it all.
"Mom has cancer. I'm being sued. My supplements were tainted. Going through a divorce," Garcia posted. "Always GETTING S— TALKED on the internet FOR YEARS. Devin asking for my victory to be taken away. I'm getting hit with everything. I STILL LOVE GOD, HE IS EVERYTHING."
If this is truly the end of Garcia's career in the ring, he had an impressive run, finishing with a 25-1 record (20 knockouts).
