After a Game 2 loss to the New York Knicks in the first round of the 2024 NBA playoffs, 76ers player Kelly Oubre Jr. was involved in a car accident.
Evidently, Oubre was driving from Madison Square Garden to his home in Philadelphia, after the 104-101 loss on April 23. The 28-year-old NBA star ran a red light, at approximately 1:45 am ET, while speeding in his purple Lamborghini Urus, which resulted in him wrecking into another car.

The victim, who has been identified as Siddh according to TMZ, is a 21-year-old college student, and was driving a 2023 Hyundai Elantra, which has since been considered "totaled" by the insurance company due to the damages.
Despite the initial reports indicating that, "cops say no one reported any injuries," as seemingly there was no initial signs of bodily harm, now Siddh is telling a different story.

Siddh is claiming that he and one of the passengers in his car have each suffered injuries, as well as he is currently suffering from anxiety, which stems from the high speed collision.
When trying to reach Oubre, to agree on a settlement, he claims that the basketball player is avoiding him, so as a result, it was indicated that this matter may be taken to court.
Important to note, this is not the first time that Oubre has been involved in a car accident, as earlier this past season he was the victim of a hit-and-run accident, when a driver ran into him while he was riding his bike. To note, this left him with a broken rib, as well as hip and leg injuries. In view of this, there was home surveillance footage, which showed Oubre returning home after the accident back in November of 2023.

Consequently, after being involved in both accidents, Oubre came to the conclusion that he should probably just hire a personal driver to get around the city.
At the end of April, after striking Siddh's car, Oubre told TMZ, "Everything is good... I'm okay. The people that were involved were okay, but I need to probably get a driver or something and just stay off the road and behind the wheel, but everything is good. I'm good."
It's probably for the best if Oubre stays off the road, as the 76ers will want him at full health heading into his 10th NBA season, considering he just inked a two-year, $16.3 million contract. Notably, in 68 games last season, Oubre averaged 15.4 points (44.1% FG; 31.1% 3PT), 5.0 rebounds, and 1.1 steals.
