Brittany Mahomes Sparks Controversy After 'Liking' a Donald Trump Post

Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Kansas City Chiefs' quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has come under criticism after she allegedly liked a post from one of Donald Trump's social media accounts. The post in question was one in which the former President outlined his 2024 election campaign and strategy.

Since being called out all across social media, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition model took the opportunity to call out her "haters" via Instagram story. Her liking Trump's post was never addressed in the story, though the timing of everything seems to correlate for what it's worth.

"I mean honestly, to be a hater as an adult, you have to have some deep rooted issues you refuse to heal from childhood," the story read. "There's no reason your brain is fully developed and you hate to see others doing well."

Multiple outlets have confirmed (and a quick search by anyone) confirms that she removed her like following the backlash. Brittany Mahomes also isn't listed among Trump's followers on social media, either. Fox News attempted to get a comment from her but a contact for Mahomes did not respond to the company's request.

There has never been any prior affiliation between Mahomes and Republicans prior to this.

A quick scan through X reveals some of the backlash Brittany Mahomes received. One user roped in Patrick into his complaint, "Jesus, I think I'm done with the [Chiefs]. Maybe time to find another team. If [Brittany] believes in Trump, then [Patrick] does, too."

On the other end, though, Mahomes' remarks following the controversy inspired others to take a stand with her. One account wrote, "Thank you for your courage in standing up for what is right and voicing your support for Trump." Another added, "[Brittany]... we respect you more for having your own mind instead of being just another sheep. Be a free thinker"

It's always wild when one simple like or interaction from a post causes a raucous like this. As of this writing, no other comments have been issued from Brittany (or Patrick) Mahomes.

At least football season is right around the corner and the Chiefs will hold the honor of kicking off the season against the Baltimore Ravens on September 5.
