A lot of people suspected Florida State would be a top-10 college football team entering the season. A lot of people may feel differently today.

After opening with a loss to Georgia Tech, the Seminoles were dominated on their own field by Boston College on Monday, dropping a 28-13 decision. And Florida State coach Mike Norvell took the blame.
"I'm sick to how this season started," he told reporters. "Tonight, I failed in preparing the team to go out and respond (after the season-opening loss)."
Florida State now has an open date before facing Memphis in nearly two weeks. That means Norvell and the Seminoles have two weeks to fix things — and to think about 0-2.
For the record, the defending ACC champions were expected to win the conference again this year, and fairly easily.
"You've got a football team that nobody envisioned ever being where we are and having disappointment, having failure, but I do believe in what this team can do," Norvell said. "I believe in what this team can accomplish.
"There's going to be plenty of negativity around this program. I understand that. When we perform the way we just did, that's all part of it. But for our football team, you've got to stay together, and you've got to make sure that you're there for each other. We've been knocked down. We know how to get up, but we've got to go do that. It's one thing to talk about it. It's another thing to put into action and then to be able to perform in the moment."
On the bright side, the Seminoles started 0-4 under Norvell in 2021, and then won five of their final eight. It's doubtful things will get that bad this season, but it's sure not great so far.
