Tom Brady Criticizes His Own Broadcasting Debut, Rob Gronkowski Weighs In: ‘He Had Some Jitters’

The seven-time Super Bowl winning quarterback Tom Brady made his debut as a sports commentator during the Week 1 Dallas Cowboys' 33-17 win over the Cleveland Browns, and fans had a lot to say about his performance.

As the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers QB served as the color analyst, alongside play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt in the Fox Sports broadcasting booth, many noted that in some instances throughout the game he seemed nervous, while sometimes taking long pauses and fumbling over his words.

Brady spoke on this in his latest YouTube vlog, "Certainly a lot of fun, definitely some things to clean up. So it's all a learning process, man."

Even Brady's former teammate Rob Gronkowski critiqued his quarterback, when he made an appearance on the Up & Adams show with Kate Adams.

"He was like a quarterback that was picked No. 1 overall — all the hype in the world. And he came through. He did come through, but he had a lot of jitters — that's for sure," Gronk said. "Not a lot, but he had some jitters. He made some great plays. There were some plays that he missed, I feel like... So, he's got a lot to learn."

The tight end continued, "So just overall I'm kind of comparing him to a rookie quarterback because he was a rookie in the booth over the last week... But he has a lot to improve on and he's just going to keep dominating and getting better every single week."

While some fans have tried to persuade Brady to drop the mic and pick the pigskin back up, the 47-year-old said he is right where he belongs.

"Felt like I was doing what I should be doing," Brady said. "It's going to get better."

After earning $333 million during his 23-year playing career, the NFL's all-time passing leader has surpassed that with his 10-year/$375 million contract with Fox Sports.
