Patriots Legend Rob Gronkowski Gets Candid on Raiders Tight End Brock Bowers

Not many people knew what to expect of the Las Vegas Raiders coming into this season. Despite being one of the hottest teams in the second half of the 2023 season there were a lot of question marks about the squad. Especially after losing their starting quarterback Jimmy Garapolo this offseason.

Rob Gronkowski Has High Praise For Raiders' Brock Bowers

However, things are beginning to look up for Las Vegas. After an impressive victory over Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens last week they are 1-1 on the season. That has been in large part to the performance of Raiders tight end Brock Bowers. One the season he has 15 receptions for 156 yards in two games.

The raiders rookie is already turning heads as he has earned high praise from one legendary tight end —- former New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski.

"The guy's a winner. The guy is a playmaker. Whenever the ball is thrown to him, I love his explosiveness after the catch. And I feel like he's on track to be better than myself," Gronk said.

"I mean, I don't think he can dominate in the trenches the way I dominated in the trenches, but just overall, as a pass-catching tight end, I think he can surpass me in many situations."

Gronk Gets Honest About Mahomes, Kelce

Last season Kansas City Chiefs stars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes became three-time Super Bowl Champions. Just one less than Gronk and Tom Brady won together in New England. This season they have a chance to tie the legendary tight end and quarterback duo in championships.

But despite Mahomes and Kelce being he and Kelce's fiercest rivals, Gronkowski had nothing but glowing things to say about the Chiefs stars.

"Travis and Patrick have just been putting on a display for the NFL week in and week out. There's no doubt about that, but there's one record that I am proud to hold to this day still and it's the single-season receiving record for most touchdowns by a tight end," Gronk added.

"So if he breaks that one, I will be really bummed. But he has broken about every other record so far."
