Jason Kelce Hints at Coming Out Retirement With Cryptic Tweet

Kelce May Run It Back

NFL fans are speculating about a potential return from Jason Kelce after the former Philadelphia lineman shared a cryptic post on X.

Kelce hung up the cleats earlier this year after 13 seasons as the Eagles center and his career with the Birds came with major success. He earned seven Pro Bowl selections and made it to the Super Bowl in 2018 and 2022, taking the Vince Lombardi trophy in the former.

When deciding whether to call it quits on football Kelce says that it was his health that ultimately convinced him, citing his lingering elbow and knee injuries as defining factors. Before the season he expanded on that reasoning when explaining to the Associated Press why fans should not expect a return from him.

"My days of playing are just done, and I do not foresee any scenario taking place other than maybe medicine inventing a way to get rid of arthritis that I would ever entertain coming back at all anymore," he recently told the publication.

Kelce Can't Stay Away From Football

The pain hasn't kept Kelce from the spotlight. He recently appeared on ESPN's Monday Night Football broadcast for the Week 2 matchup between his Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons. He was joined by New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson and the two had a riveting conversation about their respective sports.

"Is it easier for an NBA player to come and play in the NFL, or do you think it's easier for an NFL guy to play in the NBA," Kelce gabbed.

Brunson immediately responded by saying an NBA player's transition would be easier but was just as quick not to downplay the difficulty of playing professional football. "Not saying it's easy. It's easier." The NBA superstar doubled down on his stance by asking Kelce if he could guard a pick and roll.

"Hey I got this, I'm going right through the pick", Kelce joked in response.

Both athletes went on to give each other their respects for playing their sports at such a high level.
