The Cleveland Browns will not have a key piece of the offensive line for the next few weeks due to an injury.
Guard Wyatt Teller, a three-time Pro Bowler, exited Sunday's loss to the New York Giants after sustaining a knee injury. According to NFL Insider Mike Garafolo, sources say that Teller suffered a Grade 2 MCL sprain.
Head coach Stefanski did not provide details of the injury during a Monday press conference other than saying it would keep the guard out.
"Wyatt Teller has a knee injury," Stefanski said. "He will miss multiple weeks, but I don't have the full extent just yet."
The Browns do not yet have a concrete plan for the offensive line moving forward. Stefanski acknowledged that backup Zak Zinter is an option to replace Teller in the immediate future, but he and the team will continue working through the process this week before making a final decision.
With Teller out for multiple weeks, there is the possibility of a roster move. Stefanski confirmed that the veteran guard could potentially land on Injured Reserve, which would sideline him for a minimum of four weeks.
Teller is not the only member of the offensive line who left the game on Sunday. Tackles James Hudson III and Jedrick Wills Jr. also missed time due to injuries. Both will undergo testing to determine the extent.
The list of injuries continues with an important member of the defense. Stefanski noted that Myles Garrett is "day-to-day" as he continues to recover from a foot injury.
Garrett has dealt with the lingering injury throughout the first few weeks of the season and has missed practice time as a result. The veteran defender aggravated the foot injury in the fourth quarter against the Giants. He spent time in the medical tent before ultimately returning to the field.
Garrett clarified that the injury was actually to both feet. He indicated that he might require surgery after the season ends. However, an MRI on Monday would provide more information.
"I'm not concerned about something I don't know about," Garrett said, per ESPN. "So, get the results and move from there. At this point, I'm going to continue to move as I have and look forward to playing the next game until someone tells me otherwise."
