Mondays are not usually something that people look forward to. But that could all change this week. That is because Monday Night Football features a double-header with two key matchups.

In the second Monday Night Football matchup, the Washington Commanders will face off against the Cincinnati Bengals and both teams could use a win.
Commanders and Bengals Square Off in Primetime
For the Commanders, the NFC East is one of the divisions that could go to any team. The Eagles, despite their 2-1 record, have struggled to start their season. And both the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants have struggled out of the gates with records of 1-2.
A win over the Bengals would also move them to 2-1, which would be tied for first place in the division.
As for the Bengals, they are just looking for anything to get them going. After they went to the Super Bowl in 2021, many people thought that the future was bright in Cincy. But they haven't returned to the big game since losing to the Los Angeles Rams in the Super Bowl.
Last year, their starting quarterback Joe Burrow suffered a wrist injury early in the year that sidelined him for the rest of the season. So they did not qualify for the playoffs.
And as if things weren't already shaky enough in the Bengals locker room, Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase is disgruntled. He and the organization had a standoff this summer because the star wideout wanted a new deal. Chase still doesn't have a new deal but has agreed to play this season. However, the All-Pro did take out an insurance policy on himself to ensure that he is covered in the event he gets injured during the season.
Already sitting at 0-2 the Bengals cannot afford to fall to 0-3 on the season. Especially in a highly competitive AFC North division that is loaded with talent.
