Fans of SEC teams are known for being the most passionate fans in all of sports. But this latest story about one Georgia Bulldogs fan may have just solidified it.
In case you haven't heard Hurricane Helene made landfall earlier this week, impacting the Georgia, Alabama, and Florida Coastline. During the hurricane one man was trapped in his home. Luckily for him, he had another good friend who was able to bring him to safety largely because they had tickets to the Georgia and Alabama game on Sunday.
Georgia Fan Rescues Friend to Attend Alabama Game
A group of neighbors caught the good Samaritan on film as he carried a raft to an area where flood water had localized and traveled to his trapped friend to bring him to safety.
"What made you want to go do this?" the neighbor asked the man.
"We're going to Tuscaloosa for Georgia-Bama. I gotta go save someone. He's trapped in the house and we're going to Tuscaloosa. " he answered.
The concerned neighbor also warned the fan that he would likely sink in the flood water, to which he responded: "We're about to find out."

Social Media Reacts to Samaritan's Heroics
In a second video, the neighbor films the man, who later identified himself as a Georgia Bulldogs fan, paddling the boat about 100 yards to the house where the friend was trapped. He can bring him to safety and now they can make it to Tuscaloosa for one of the biggest games of the season.

But in all seriousness, Hurricane Helene has already claimed the lives of more than 50 people. So folks on social media were shocked by the man's dedication to rescue his friend just so they could attend the game together.
"SEC BUILT DIFFERENT ROUND HERE," one fan wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"That's a lot of trouble to come to Tuscaloosa to watch your team get beat, but I respect it," another fan added.
