Fans Erupt After Another Electric Performance By Texas QB Arch Manning

It's Week 5 of the college football season which means we are a week closer to January and the College Football Playoff. One of the biggest storylines heading into Week 5, was how Texas starting quarterback Arch Manning would follow up a two-touchdown performance in his first career start against the University of Louisiana Monroe last week.

Fans React to Arch Manning's Electrifying Performance

Manning didn't disappoint in the sequel. It was deja vu as the Longhorns quarterback threw for another two touchdowns. And after all the hoopla about his two interceptions in his first start, he didn't turn the ball over as Texas cruised to a 35-13 victory over the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Manning finished with 3 total touchdowns, 357 total yards, and an 84% completion percentage. He also led Texas to their first-ever SEC conference win.

Fans couldn't contain their excitement after another big performance by the sophomore sensation.

"Arch Manning has looked much more comfortable and determined to take what the defense gives him against Mississippi State. That's why when they gave him an opportunity to hit the shot play over the top, it didn't feel forced. It felt just right," former Heisman-winner Robert Griffin III said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"We're watching a competitor evolve today. Arch Manning is a gamer," another fan added.

"Can't wait for him to take Daniel Jones job" another fan said.

Is The Quinn Ewers Era Over?

Arch Manning is starting in place of injured Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers. At the start of the season, Ewers was viewed by many as a player who could be a finalist for the Heisman Award.

But one has to wonder what the future holds for Ewers if Manning continues to ball like this and the Longhorns continue to win. But if winning is the measuring stick for going with Manning as the starter going forward, Ewers could have a chance to take the reins back when he is healthy again.

The Longhorn's next two games are against 21st-ranked Oklahoma and 2nd-ranked Georgia. But it is also an opportunity for Manning to prove that he's earned the right to be a starter.
