Fans Slam Joe Buck's Analysis During Monday Night Football

ESPN NFL analyst Joe Buck was on the call for the Lions vs. Seahawks game. And in what has become almost a Monday Night tradition, fans were extremely upset with Buck's commentary and voiced their displeasure on social media.

"Joe Buck is almost as bad as Collinsworth," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"WHY IS JOE BUCK ANNOUNCING THIS GAME WHY IS HE EVEN EMPLOYED IN THE FIRST PLACE HE IS THE WORST AND DULLEST ANNOUNCER OF ALL TIME," another fan added.

"Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. This is going to be a terrible viewing experience," another fan said.

Famed Analyst Responds to Critics

Before joining ESPN in 2022, Buck was a Fox Sports. The star analyst joined the network in 1994, spending the majority of his career there. But in 2022 Buck received the opportunity of a lifetime. The chance to do color commentary for Monday Night Football.

Fans have expressed their disdain for Buck since he was at Fox. And the analyst is aware that many people frankly, just do not like him. Which he says was a surprising revelation at first.

"I just didn't feel like anybody really cared about this stuff. I do feel like when you do it for 20 years and you mix in six Super Bowls and all those NFC championship games, you gain the public's trust," Buck said.

"If you do it the right way, I think you end up getting a sound that comes out of your voice that makes it sound like a big event, and I think that's what ESPN is hoping for and trying to buy."

A lot of Fox on NFL fans were relieved when Buck got the call to go to ESPN. As it meant they would no longer be subjected to hearing his voice on Sundays. But as far as the people in Buck's inner circle are concerned, they were thrilled that he was getting to opportunity.

"As far as the reaction, it was really nice. It's nothing I expected. My phone was dead by the end of every day and I never went through my battery on my phone," Buck added.

"Texting people back, thanking them for reaching out for saying how happy they are for me and Michelle and the family. People from my past, people from my future meaning ESPN, people I don't really know yet. It's been nice."
