The writing had been on the wall that Adams had played his last down for the Raiders. And on October 1, that assumption became a reality. ESPN NFL Insider Ian Rapaport says that Adams informed the franchise he
prefers to be traded"

Raiders Star Responds to Antonio Pierce's Instagram Like
Earlier this week Antonio Pierce, head coach of the Raiders appeared to like a post on Instagram that hinted that their star wide receiver would be traded.
Many thought that Pierce's like on the post could just be a mistake or perhaps just a coincidence. But when Davante appeared on the Up & Adams Show with Kay Adams on October 1 it became more apparent that he could be on the move. Adams revealed that he has not even as much as spoken to Pierce as of late.
"I haven't talked to him," Adams said. "I don't really know what that was about. Obviously, social media's a beast so a lot of people saw it and are wondering what's going on, people reaching out."
#Raiders WR Davante Adams says he hasn't heard from Antonio Pierce, who "liked" an Instagram post suggesting that Davante may have played his last down with Vegas.

After falling to the winless Carolina Panthers in Week 3 Las Vegas was on a bye week in Week 4. Adams revealed that since that loss he has not really been in contact with anyone in the organization.
Let the chips fall where they may as it pertains to that," Adams continues. "But there's been no communication with anybody from the team since that became a thing but it's kind of like the weekly 'what's up with [Davante]?' thing."
However, the star receiver also noted that regardless of the drama that is occurring within the Raiders locker room he remains focused on the task at hand. Performing at his best week by week.
"It's always some sort of drama... [but] I'm trying to be the model for not stirring the pot and just locking in and doing what I got to do," Adams added.
Adams joined the franchise in 2023 free agency. A big reason for that was the relationship that he has with their former starting quarterback Derek Carr. With Carr now with the New Orleans Saints Davante could be looking to change locations.
