The former No. 1 ranked women's tennis player in the world, Naomi Osaka, has recently faced criticism over her tournament performances.

Notably, this year marked Osaka's return to tennis after a 18-month hiatus during a time period in which she gave birth to her first child.
That is to say, ever since her return, Osaka has gotten off to a slow start, with a 2024 record of 21 wins and 17 losses, along with her best finish being a mere Quarterfinal appearance.
During the China Open this week, she made it to the round of 16, but had to retire from her match with U.S. tennis superstar Coco Gauff, due to a back injury.
Following this, a troll online called Osaka out, and this ruffled her feathers, as she took to Instagram to defend herself.
"I just saw someone call me a fluke. How is it possible to be a fluke with 4 Grand Slams, lighting the Olympic torch, beating multiple top 20 opponents and being close to top 50 the year after giving birth? FOH, you couldn't even touch one of my accomplishments with your fingernail."

In view of her career, at 26 years old, Osaka is a four-time Grand Slam champion (US Open 2018 and 2020, Australian Open 2019 and 2021). In addition, she has earned seven career WTA singles titles, while also being the first Asian to hold the World No. 1 ranking in singles.
