Nick Chubb Has Message Of Hope For Browns Fans Upon His Return From Gruesome Knee Injury: ‘I Have Serious Unfinished Business’

Ever since suffering a frightful knee injury during Week 2 of the 2023 season, Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb has been working his way through the recovery process in hopes of making a return, and now that time appears to be soon.

That is to say, as highlighted in a recent Players' Tribune column, this was Chubb's second major injury. Important to note, he also dislocated his knee and tore ligaments (MCL, LCL, PCL) while playing his college ball for Georgia.

Then in the Pittsburgh Steelers game last year, he was carted off the field after a similar injury occurred.

"I've tried to work my ass off every day to get us where we need to go, and even though we have gotten close, I feel like I have serious unfinished business," 28-year-old Chubb said (via The Players' Tribune). "That's why it hurt me so bad to go down last season. We were just starting to cook... I can't stop until I prove to everybody that I'm the undisputed best running back in this league, and I definitely can't stop until we get the Browns back to the top of the AFC. It's been too damn long."

Tom Withers of the Associated Press, has reported that Chubb (knee) is trending toward returning to the field in Week 7 vs. the Cincinnati Bengals. While head coach Kevin Stefanski has confirmed that Chubb is day-to-day, so his return his imminent.

To point out, the Browns are currently sitting with a 1-5 record, so even with Chubb's highly anticipated return, fans' hope and patience are both wearing thin.

Nevertheless, if there is one player to save the crumbling Browns, it is Chubb, who has been the lone bright spot in the offense. Ever since getting drafted as a second round pick, he has proven to be one of the most effective backs in the league. That is to say, the 4x Pro Bowler has averaged 5+ yards per carry every season since 2018, accumulating 6,511 rushing yards and 48 rushing touchdowns.
