That is to say on October 13, during a preseason game, the Minnesota Timberwolves were facing the Knicks, and Jalen Brunson found himself in the middle of some drama between his friend, DiVincenzo, and father, Rick Brunson.

During the game, the broadcast audio picked up DiVincenzo trash-talking Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau, "'Can't finish, right Thibs?"

Then DiVincenzo turned his attention to Brunson's dad, who is a Knicks assistant, as he yelled, "That's what happens when they let you run the show... Let daddy be in charge."

Jalen spoke on the situation, that involved his dad and long-time buddy jawing at each other back-and-forth.

"I just wanted to address that families fight. Things were said. S*** should've been handled better on both sides but here we are," Jalen said on own "Roommates Show" podcast. "Everyone thinks the world's crumbling. Everyone thinks... It is what it is at this point. But I just feel like it should've been handled way better."

In view of the situation, there is no doubt the Brunson family and DiVincenzo are well acquainted, as he was a groomsman at Jalen' wedding and a teammate of his on the Villanova basketball team.

During the podcast, DiVincenzo's college/former Knicks teammates Brunson and Josh Hart discussed the blockbuster trade with their new teammate Karl-Anthony Towns.

"Whenever you get traded - as a seasoned (person who has been traded)  - you try not to take things personally because it's a business. But there's a human side to it," Hart said. "There's always like, when you get traded, you feel unwanted, so there's a personal side to it. And then when you play that team - whether it's the preseason or whatever - you go at that team. Like, it's always personal for you. "

The Knicks will face-off with the Timberwolves on December 19 at Minnesota (Target Center) and January 17, 2025, at New York (Madison Square Garden).
