Brady Spoke to Bill Belichick About Job
Barstool Sports' Kirk Minihane alleges that the former New England Patriots star plans to reach out to Bill Belichick about a coaching position.
"Two sources have told me that," he said on his self-named show. "Two high-ups in the Patriots organization have told me that."
Brady recently became a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders after a nearly two-year back-and-forth with league officials. According to the NFL's finance committee, the price at which he was being sold his stake was far less than the team's true worth. Owners feared that it would make their clubs less valuable, so the purchase price was later changed. As a result, Brady was able to purchase a 5% share valued around $335 million.
Raiders Looking to Salvage Season After Shifts in Roster
Belichick and Brady brought home six Super Bowl wins for the Patriots in their 20-year run as coach and quarterback.
That kind of experience could be useful to a Raiders squad that stands at 2-4 for the season. With the extensive list of injuries the team has, in addition to recently trading away all-pro receiver Davante Adams, Las Vegas' current is trying to get their roster back to where it needs to be.
The club announced it has signed wide receiver Alex Bachman to the active roster and activated wideout Kristian Wilkerson from the practice squad. The Raiders have also activated tight end Justin Shorter from the practice squad.
Head coach Antonio Pierce expressed his confidence in his squad in the midst of recent roster changes.
"We still got 11 guys out there. Still got some good football players," Pierce noted.
"Look, some of these guys, to their credit, was just on the practice squad and getting them opportunities and you got to make the most of it. You always want those opportunities. We got to be detailed. And when they come, you make the most of them."
