The Cleveland Browns are shaking things up in a big way, and it's not just Jameis Winston stepping in at quarterback. Head coach Kevin Stefanski announced Wednesday that offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey will take over the play-calling duties for Sunday's game.

That's a significant move for a Browns team that ranks near the bottom in almost every offensive category.
Make no mistake—this was Stefanski's call. The Browns' head coach has been pulling the strings on offense since he arrived in 2020, but the results this season haven't been pretty. The offense was revamped for Deshaun Watson, but instead of finding rhythm, it's been one long note of disarray. The Browns are 29th in points scored, dead last in yards, and last in third-down conversion rate at a dismal 23.7 percent.
"I'm very confident in Ken," Stefanski said during his press conference. "This is the best course of action for our football team."
Dorsey, 43, was the Bills' offensive coordinator just last year but was let go midseason. Now, he's being asked to steer the Browns' offense out of the mud. The question is, can he? It's no small task, especially with Winston getting the start under center.
Stefanski's decision could be seen as a way to take a step back and manage the entire team on game day. He's had his hands full with an offense that just hasn't clicked. Meanwhile, the defense, led by Jim Schwartz, has been a bright spot. So, maybe this change allows Stefanski to focus more on keeping the whole team in check.
Stefanski didn't hint at whether this is a permanent change, but he made it clear that right now, it's about doing what's best for the Browns.
"We need to play better on offense," Stefanski said. "We've got to win football games."
And right now, that means Dorsey gets the keys to the car, with the hope he can figure out how to get this offense firing on all cylinders.
