According to a Wednesday announcement, longtime Team Penske employee Miles Stanley will take over as crew chief in 2025 as Berry moves to Wood Brothers Racing. Stanley replaces Jeremy Bullins, who parted ways with Team Penske and Wood Brothers Racing ahead of last weekend's trip to Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Stanley is currently the performance engineering manager at Team Penske. He has been in this role for three years after previously serving as the race engineer for the No. 22 team. Stanley helped Joey Logano win 21 races and the 2018 Cup Series championship during his time with the team.
Stanley also has Cup Series experience as a crew chief. For example, he guided the No. 22 team at Talladega and Kansas in 2017. Logano was involved in crashes in both races.
Before joining Team Penske, Stanley worked in multiple roles at Robby Gordon Motorsports. This tenure includes him overseeing the engineering programs for the No. 83 and No. 93 Cup cars.
"Miles has built an impressive resume filled with wins and championships, and he has a deep, technical understanding of the sport," said Wood Brothers Racing President Jon Wood in a statement. "His commitment and impressive track record make him a perfect fit for the No. 21 team as we enter an exciting new chapter.
"Over the years, we've been fortunate to work with some of the most talented crew chiefs in NASCAR, and I look forward to seeing what Miles and Josh accomplish on the track next year."
Berry, who has two races remaining at Stewart-Haas Racing, will move to the iconic red and white car for his second season in the Cup Series. This will present a challenge considering the history of Wood Brothers Racing and the expectations he will face.
This is a challenge that Berry has said he will embrace as he replace Harrison Burton, who scored the organization's 100th Cup win at Daytona.
"I think (the Wood Brothers) have been public in saying that they're not running like they want to," Berry told media members during his introductory press conference in July.
"I don't feel bad, I guess, in saying that, but I look at the opportunity for me to go there and make a difference and that's pretty special."
Berry and Stanley will get their first opportunity to work together on Sunday, Feb. 2, when the Cup Series teams take on the Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium.
