"Hey Kelce, how does it feel to know that your brother is a f****t for dating Taylor Swift?" the heckler asked.
Kelce responded by snatching and smashing the heckler's phone.
Kelce Breaks Silence After Phone Smashing Incident
However, the heckler continued to antagonize Kelce, approaching him over the damaged phone. The two came face to face once again, with Kelce asking him, "Who's the f****t now?"
Kelce's response to the antagonist was met with a lot of backlash. During his appearance on Monday Night Countdown for the Buccaneers vs. Eagles game, Kelce broke his silence, expressing remorse for how he handled the situation.
"I think everybody's seen on social media the thing that took place this week. Listen, I'm not happy with anything that took place. I'm not proud of it," Kelce said.
"In a heated moment, I chose to greet hate with hate, and I just don't think that that's a productive thing. I really don't. I don't think it leads to discourse, and it's the right way to go about things, and in that moment I fell down to a level that I shouldn't have."
Travis, Taylor Swift 'Shocked' By Jason's Response
The moment between Kelce and the fan went viral on social media. So much that even Taylor and Travis caught wind of it. One source told the DailyMail that the pair were "shocked" upon learning of the incident.
"Taylor and Travis were both really shocked by this considering Jason is one of the nicest guys in the world," the source said.
"It really became clear how much he loves and respects Taylor. Travis means the world to him."
The former Eagles center also vowed that he would try to handle things differently moving forward.
"I think, the bottom line is, I try to live my life by the Golden Rule. It's what I've always been taught," Kelce added.
"I try to treat people with common decency and respect, and I'm going to keep doing that moving forward even though I fell short this week."
