Despite dealing with this injury, the 30-year-old toughed it out and was in the lineup for Games 3, 4, and 5.

In view of the diagnosis, it has been revealed as a torn labrum. That is to say, on Tuesday it was announced by the team that Ohtani underwent successful arthroscopic surgery to repair his left shoulder.

Now following the completion of surgery, reportedly Ohtani won't have to miss out on any games, as he is set to recover in time for Spring Training.

To point out, Ohtani, who is under a $700 million contract, also underwent Tommy John surgery last year on the same throwing arm, and as a result he didn't appear on the mound this season.

In his first year in a Dodgers uniform, Ohtani played the role of a designated hitter and made history, becoming the only member in MLB history of the 50 stolen bases and 50 home run club. The Japanese born star player ended the season with a .310 batting average, 54 home runs, 130 RBI's, and 59 stolen bases.

Although Ohtani's postseason debut (.230 average, 3 home runs, 10 RBI's) wasn't up to his legendary standards, he is the leading candidate for NL MVP.
