The Seahawks faced a four-point deficit with under two minutes remaining in the division game. They were in enemy territory (Santa Clara, California), but Smith did not let this slow him down. He found Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a third-down conversion and then he rushed for a first down with under one minute left.
Smith capped off the drive by rushing for a 13-yard touchdown with 12 seconds remaining. This was the game-winning play, and it silenced the crowd at Levi's Stadium.

Smith was not yet done. He let the 49ers fans watch as he pulled out a Bay Area celebration. He put his palms together and put them up to his head, a move that has become the signature of Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry.
"Night night in Golden State is so cold," one user wrote on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. Others weighed in and called the celebration "wild" while referring to this battle as the "Geno Smith comeback game."
The Seahawks started the season 3-0 but then fell to 4-5 while losing games to the Bills, Rams, 49ers, and Giants. The 49ers, for comparison, entered Sunday's game at 5-4 with an opportunity to tie the division-leading Cardinals, who are on Bye this week.
Smith rushing for the game-winning touchdown took both the 49ers and Seahawks to 5-5. They are now tied with seven games remaining on the schedule. The Rams also moved to 5-5 on Sunday by beating the Patriots.
The next opportunity for the Seahawks is Sunday, Nov. 24. They will host the Cardinals at Lumen Field. The winner of this game will gain an advantage in the race for the NFC West crown.
