According to Palm Beach Gardens Police Department, at around 1:22 pm a witness saw someone savagely beat a man with several clubs and then drown the guy in a nearby water hazard (per TMZ).

The killer has been identified as 36-year-old Junior Boucher, who has a lengthy criminal record.

Police chief Dominick Pape has told reporters that it is believed this was a "random act of violence," which occurred on the first hole of the Sandhill Crane Golf Club.

Pape went on to say, "It does not appear that Boucher had any legitimate purpose for being at the golf course."

New information has come to light that Boucher had actually been reported by his family as missing less than an hour before it all went down.

The victim has been identified as 65-year-old Brian Hiltebritel, who was actually heard by the witness screaming out, "He's trying to kill me," while he was being chased.

The witness told officers that after hitting the victim several times with golf clubs, the two ended up in the golf course pond and Boucher forcibly held his head under water.

"Boucher jumped on top of Hiltebritel and appeared to be choking him," the witness said. "Boucher then got off of Hiltebritel, who was no longer moving, and retrieved a golf club and struck him repeatedly in the head."

Unfortunately, upon police arriving at the scene Hiltebritel was pronounced dead.

Boucher attempted to flee the police, but was ultimately taken into custody and now faces first-degree murder charges.
