Georgia QB Carson Beck Makes Shocking Confession That Has NFL Scouts Worried

Most athletes play sports for the love of the game, however, evidently not every football player likes spending their free time watching others play on the gridiron. That is, Georgia senior quarterback Carson Beck has come out and shockingly admitted that he doesn't enjoy watching football.

During a press conference, a reporter asked the QB about the team's upcoming opponent.

"Was there anything that stood out to you after watching Texas' defense?"

And Beck's response left everyone in the room speechless.

"Yeah, well I don't watch football," Beck admitted. "I know that sounds kinda crazy, but I don't really enjoy watching it. It's not fun for me."

Evidently, Beck says watching a game makes him stressed out.

"I'll explain for a second what I mean by that. If I watch that game, I'm not just going to sit there and enjoy it, I'm going to stress myself out the whole time. I'm watching the defense, like, 'OK, why this coverage on this down?' or, 'Why did he throw it there against this coverage?'"

Fans reacted to this by saying the NFL draft prospect should have maybe kept this information to himself.

Although some fellow D-1 athletes can relate, saying what he said may give out the wrong idea to NFL scouts, who are looking for quarterbacks that live and breathe the sport of football.

Certainly, he didn't word it in the best way possible, but Beck's message may be that when your hobby becomes a job, you sometimes need an escape.

Overall, Beck not watching other games has seemingly had no effect on his play, as this season the fourth-year player has thrown for 3,429 yards and 28 touchdowns/12 interceptions, to go with a 81.6 QBR (10th in the nation).

In particular, over his last few games, Beck has thrown 11 touchdowns and 0 picks, leading Georgia to a 10-2 record on the season.

The No.5 Bulldogs will face the No.2 Texas Longhorns (11-1) in the SEC championship game on December 7 at 4:00 pm ET.

Fans will be able to find out if Beck not watching Texas' defense will affect the outcome of the highly anticipated matchup that has college football playoff implications.
