Six-time Super Bowl winning NFL head coach Bill Belichick may be taking his talents to the college level.

That is, reports came out that the former Patriots coach of 24 years has interviewed for the vacant coaching spot at North Carolina. The 72-year-old may be one of the leading candidates to replace Mack Brown.
Brown was let go after posting a 44-31 record across six seasons.
This may be a good fit for the legendary NFL coach, as the Tarheels are certainly in need of someone to turn the program around, considering they have only been able to come away with one bowl victory in the last decade (55-13 win vs. Temple 2019 Military Bowl).

Notably, the Patriots and Belichick parted ways on January 11, 2024, and since then he has turned down jobs, such as the defensive coordinator position with both the San Francisco 49ers and LA Rams.
ESPN's Adam Schefter had previously reported that Belichick was looking to get back into coaching in 2025. However, many were expecting the 29-season NFL head coach to further his career in the National Football League and not the NCAA.
In addition to winning two Super Bowls as the Giants defensive coordinator, Belichick went on to become the head coach of the Cleveland Browns (1991-1995) and the Patriots (2000 to 2023).
Throughout his career, he has a 302-165 record in the regular season, and 31-13 in the postseason. His 333 wins makes him the second-winningest coach in NFL history, as he only trails Don Shula (347).
If Belichick did go the college route, he may be able to relate to the 18-22 year old kids more than people think, as he is dating a recent college graduate, cheerleader Jordon Hudson.
