The Eagles were slow out of the gates to start the season. After four games, they were 2-2 and didn't look like a team with the makings of a title contender. But after a pedestrian start the Eagles have caught fire, and so far, no team has been able to put the flame out, as they currently sit atop the NFC East.

Jalen Carter and Nick Sirianni Have Heated Altercation on Sideline
A lot of people considered the Eagles Week 15 matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers a measuring stick game as the Steelers also lead their division, the AFC North.
But in the midst of a heated battle, emotions boiled over as Eagles defensive end Jalen Carter and head coach Nick Sirianni had a heated altercation on the Philadelphia sideline.
This is CRAZY and only happens in #Philly …#Eagles HC Nick Sirianni was trying to talk to Jalen Carter about something and D-Line Coach Clint Hurt stopped him from doing so…hard to believe an 11-2 team leading by 14 in the 4th quarter, over a 10-3 #Steelers team, would have… pic.twitter.com/3nIiHpzfx8

Former Eagles Player Comes to Coaches' Defense
Despite the Eagles' recent string of success, people have still been critical of their head coach Nick Sirianni, most notably the fact that he does not call the plays for the Eagles anymore. But former Eagles center Jason Kelce doesn't believe the criticism that Sirianni has faced is fair, noting that Detroit Lions head coach, Dan Campbell, doesn't receive the same criticism.
"I think the big thing people question with Nick is like, 'What does he do?' Especially now that he's not a play-caller," Kelce said on the 94WIP Morning Show. "And I just think there's a number of coaches that do this now, Dan Campbell being one of them. And people really don't question what Dan Campbell does for the Lions."
Kelce also noted that just because Sirianni is no longer the play-caller, doesn't mean his value to the Eagles has diminished.
"I know that's not as easy and transparent as calling plays and whether he is good or bad at that. But I think that has tremendous value," he added.
"For the most part, he's been really, really good at that through his career...You've got to give him some credit for—I don't know who made the hires or whatever. He's been the head coach through Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio coming on and these new additions and they've lost two games this year."
