Arkansas loses 1,000-yard rusher for the regular season

Senior running back Jonathan Williams suffered a foot injury in Saturday's scrimmage and it looks like he could be out for an "extended period" according to Razorbacks coach Bret Bielema. Williams rushed for 1,190 yards and 12 touchdowns last season. Arkansas had one of the most potent running games in the country producing two 1,000-yard rusher in Williams and Alex Collins (who had 1,100 himself).

Williams is expected to have surgery soon and make a full recovery from whatever the injury is to his left foot. The school released a statement with quotes from Williams and Bielema.

Arkansas opens its season against UTEP on Sept. 5.
