Unfortunately, the pilot was pronounced dead, but no one else was hurt in the crash.

This morning the Buffalo Niagara International Airport had put out an alert that the single-engine plane, which was flying from Lansing, Michigan to White Plains, New York, had suffered mechanical problems.

"EAPD [East Aurora] Chief Patrick Welch, 911 operators received a call about a small plane crash near Stewart Court, a secluded residential street" (per DailyMail).

The local fire department was able to put out flames from the engulfed aircraft, a 1979 Beechcraft A36.

That is to say, luckily Dawkins' fiancée, Daiyaana Muhammad, and three children were unharmed, considering the plane landed so close to their house.

Due to tragedy, Dawkins, an eight-year pro out of Temple, missed Thursday's practice, but rejoined the team later on.

"I just hope the pilot's family is OK... and I'm glad that my family is perfectly fine."

The identity of the pilot has not been revealed at this time, but Dawkins says his prayers are with the family.
