At the time of his release, Ruggs will be 26 and five years removed from his last NFL game. So a potential comeback is not completely out of the cards, it would just be a matter of whether the NFL welcomes him back.
Deion Sanders Has 'Strong Interest' in Raiders Job
Colorado football coach Deion Sanders is reportedly considering a return to the NFL — this time as a head coach. And his professional coaching debut could be in Sin City.
According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the two-time Super Bowl champion has "a very strong interest" in becoming the Las Vegas Raiders head coach. The report went on to say that Sanders has already expressed his interest in the organization through his "NFL-connected associates."
Deion Sanders never showed interest in coaching in the NFL in the past. But with his two sons, Shilo and Shedeur, declaring for this year's draft, the thought has surely been circulating around the sports world.
The elder Sanders recently appeared on "Good Morning America" and said he'd consider the NFL if he had the chance to coach his sons. His son, Shedeur, is a projected top-10 pick in the 2025 NFL draft. Las Vegas locked up the No. 6 pick after finishing 4-13 this season and could have a shot at taking Sanders but would likely have to make a trade-up to make that happen.
