Fans Rip CJ Stroud During Texans, Chargers Matchup
However, despite the hype surrounding this NFL Wild Card Weekend matchup, fans were disappointed in the first half. Texans starting quarterback C.J. Stroud came under fire after a lackluster performance in the first quarter, where he threw for just 43 yards and 0 touchdowns.
Following an underwhelming performance through the first three quarters, fans did not hold back on social media.
"Cj Stroud's prime was his rookie year," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Cj Stroud is so trash dawg," another user added.
Justin Herbert Leading The Charge in the LA Locker Room
After a lackluster 2023 season, the Los Angeles Chargers have returned with a vengeance.
The Chargers have finally made it to the postseason with Justin Herbert, and that could be unfortunate for their opponents. With the addition of star rookie wide receiver Ladd McConkey, the Chargers have become one of the most dangerous offenses in the NFL.
Their 23.6 point per game average makes them the 11th-highest-scoring offense in the NFL. However, as dangerous as the Chargers' offense is, their defense is even more dangerous. They have the NFL's top-scoring defense with 17.7 points per game.
In addition, Justin Herbert has looked like a brand-new quarterback under the new Harbaugh regime. He has thrown 23 touchdowns and just three interceptions this season.
The energy around the Chargers locker room has become positive and it has been infectious as Herbert's teammates are beginning to take notice.
"I feel like everybody's having more fun this year. We've got a good culture going and Justin's definitely the leader of that," Chargers offensive tackle Rashawn Slater told ESPN. "Whenever we see him have that energy, it's very infectious. As long as I've known Justin, he's been the ultimate competitor, but I love that he's been a little more animated."
