Eagles Star A.J. Brown Meets The Author Of ‘Inner Excellence’ The Book He Was Caught Reading On Sidelines

During last Sunday's 22-10 Wild Card round win over the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver A.J. Brown went viral as the broadcast cameras showed him reading a book on the sidelines.

The book Brown was reading, "Inner Excellence," also skyrocketed in sales, as it actually reached as high as No. 1 on the Amazon's "Best Sellers" list (currently N0. 2).

Following the playoff victory, reporters asked Brown about reading a book during a game, since it had never been seen before.

"It gives me a sense of peace, that's the book I bring to every single game, my teammates call it, 'the recipe,'" Brown said. "...A lot of mental parts about it, this game is mental... It's something how I refresh every drive, whether I score a touchdown or drop a pass, I always go back to that book every time to refocus."

Now, on Friday, Brown actually got the chance to meet the author, Jim Murphy, who was at the Eagles Novacare Complex for an interview with ESPN reporter Sal Paolantonio.

The two were seen chatting it up, and may have been saying mutual "Thank You's" as they evidently have helped each other out in their careers. For one, Brown's influence allowed Murphy's book to become one of the most read books in the country, while "Inner Excellence," seemingly helped the 3x All-Pro receiver on the field this season.

In 13 games, Brown had 67 catches for 1,079 yards to go with seven receiving touchdowns.

As the Eagles are preparing for their upcoming NFL Divisional Round matchup vs. the LA Rams, Murphy will be able to watch his biggest fan in action, as Brown will take the field on Sunday, January 19 at 3:00 pm ET.

In view of seeing a prolific athlete reading his book during games, Murphy commented on the situation.

"I've never had a client or any pro athlete in the middle of a performance or middle of a game reading it... that's really neat," Murphy said. "I'm super excited for Eagles fans, the exact same thing that A.J. is learning and working on, they get to read it for themselves."
