Lakers Owner Jeanie Buss in Hot Water Following Provocative Social Media Post

Even as LeBron James enters the latter years of his career at 40 years old, the Los Angeles Lakers were expected to be among the top contenders for this year's Larry O'Brien Trophy. But to this point, the Lakers have been above average at best. That is showcased by their 22-18 record as they sit in 6th place in the Western Conference standings.

Lakers Fans Go Scorched Earth on Owner Jeanie Buss

With the NBA trade deadline approaching in February, many of the Lakers faithful have been clamoring and in some cases even begging for the Lakers to make a move to add more talent to their roster. But to this point, they have remained relatively quiet on the trade front.

So you can imagine that when Lakers owner Jeannie Buss posted a provocative photo featured on the cover of her book Laker Girl to her social media account on January 21, it didn't go over too well with the fans in Los Angeles.

"Posting [Instagram]pics instead of trading for [Colin] Sexton and [Walker] Kessler, one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"You do absolutely nothing useful for this franchise," another user replied.

LeBron James Sounds Off on Innovation Center

If you had any doubt about LeBron's legendary status, Nike's Innovation Center, appropriately named after him, should remove any second thoughts. Per Complex, the 85,000-square-foot facility features body scanners, environmental chambers, multiple tracks, and areas where prototype sneakers can be made in under an hour.

The Lakers star describes the feeling of having a building named after him on Nike's campus as "surreal".

"Over the course of my career and my time here at Nike, for all of this to come together is surreal. Sometimes it doesn't make sense to me, but I'm definitely honored, "James told Brendan Dunne of Complex in 2021.

"Having my name on the Innovation building feels very fitting because I'm always trying to figure out ways I can continue to innovate and continue to break the timeline of what they say is your prime."
