For the 1% of those that care, reportedly the NBA and WNBA shot clocks are getting a complete makeover, going from a rectangle shape to a circle shape. That is, the new look will debut at the 2025 NBA All-Star Game on February 16, and will hope to be implemented at the start of the 2025-26 season (per Tom Friend of the Sports Business Journal).

In view of all the things fans want to see improved in the NBA, the league focusing on the shape of the shot clock has led to many reacting to the news and taking apparent shots at commissioner Adam Silver.
One user wrote on X, "Fans: Move back the three point line, crack down on load management and stop calling soft fouls... NBA: Best we can do is a new shot clock and an in season tournament."
Other fans commented: "Fix them weak a** refs, jerseys, and the flooring they play on then maybe we might watch games."
While another pointed out how life-changing they found the new shape of the shot clock to be.
"This makes me want to pay for the NBA League Pass subscription."
