Conor McGregor made a surprise appearance at Brigham Young University on Tuesday night to take in a college basketball game. He didn't simply watch BYU vs. Baylor, however. He chose to get involved.

Video posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, showed the multi-time UFC champion leading the Roar of Cougars student section in the "B-Y-U" chant. He danced back and forth while pumping his arms and clapping.

McGregor also spent some time talking to the courtside reporter during the basketball game, which the Cougars won 93-89 in overtime. He expressed his enthusiasm for the experience and the reception he received at the arena.
"My man, it's so crazy, it's so fast-paced," McGregor said as he placed his hand on the reporter's shoulder. "Real high-intensity, the crowd was incredible! I'm grateful to be here, so happy to be here and to see this.
"I've always wondered what the college game would be like, and I'm very, very, very impressed."
As expected, McGregor also faced a question regarding his future. What is next for him professionally? He did not provide a detailed answer but indicated that something is in the works.
"We're discussing," McGregor said. "Discussion's ongoing, so God willing, this year."
Questions have remained about his next fight for several years. McGregor has not taken part in a bout since 2021 when he lost to Dustin Poirier. He broke his leg during this bout.
According to ESPN, McGregor was set to return to the Octagon in June for UFC 303, but a broken toe kept him out of the lineup. He also wanted to compete in an exhibition boxing match against Logan Paul but said that the UFC did not give him permission.
McGregor showing up at a BYU game is only the latest example of his busy week. He also spent time sitting courtside in Salt Lake City, Utah, while watching the Milwaukee Bucks and the Utah Jazz face off in an NBA game. The Bucks won 125-110 as Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard each scored 35 points.
