Hill, who said "I'm out, bro" in reference to the Dolphins, addressed his status with the team during a sitdown with Kay Adams on "Up & Adams." He said that quarterback Tua Tagovailoa understands the frustrations that stemmed from the inability to win, and he said that he is looking forward to continuing building their relationship.

"And this is my public apology," Hill said. "This is my public apology to you, Tua. I love you, bro."

Adams pressed for more information and asked if Hill wanted to make an apology to his team. The veteran receiver answered in the affirmative before discussing his relationship with the members of the Dolphins locker room.

"But, I mean, they already know that though," he said. "They know I'm not that kind of player though.

"A lot of people may say, 'Oh, 'Reek is a hothead' — he's this, he's that — but all my teammates know, bro, I come to work every day, I bust my tail, I show up to meetings on time, and I do what I gotta do."

This conversation did not only occur on "Up & Adams." According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Hill made the rounds on Radio Row to discuss the situation. The big takeaway from conversations with multiple outlets was that he would not be leaving the Dolphins despite failing to make the playoffs for the first time in his career.

The former fifth-round pick joined the Chiefs in 2016 and became an immediate contributor on offense and special teams. He earned the first of eight consecutive trips to the Pro Bowl as the Chiefs made the playoffs.

Hill remained in Kansas City through the 2021 season while posting four seasons with at least 1,100 receiving yards. The Chiefs made the playoffs every time and won the Super Bowl at the end of the 2019 season.

The veteran receiver headed to the Dolphins in 2022 and delivered a career-best season with 1,710 receiving yards. He then surpassed it in 2023 by leading the NFL with 1,799 receiving yards, 13 touchdowns, and 112.4 yards per game.

This season was a letdown by Hill's standards. He only posted 959 receiving yards and six touchdowns as the Dolphins dealt with injuries at the quarterback position. The team ended the year 8-9 and snapped Hill's streak of playoff appearances.
