Lakers Head Coach said Doncic Should be Ready by Monday
The Lakers received Luka Doncic in a blockbuster trade that sent All-star big Anthony Davis to Dallas.
Los Angeles also received Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris from the Mavericks and Dallas acquired Davis, Max Christie and the Lakers' 2029 first-round pick.
According to reports, upon hearing the news he was being traded, Luka's family had to console him as he was rather emotional.
Luka thanked Mavs fans in a heartfelt letter he released, titled "Dear Dallas."
"Seven years ago, I came here as a teenager to pursue my dream of playing basketball at the highest level. I thought I'd spend my career here and I wanted so badly to bring you a championship," Luka said.
Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick has suggested Luka Doncic could make his eagerly anticipated debut for the team as soon as Monday night against the Utah Jazz.
"We want him to feel confident," Redick said. "We want our medical staff to feel confident. We don't want to rush anything here. I think we're all anticipating that. I know the fans are anticipating that, and certainly our players and our coaching staff are anticipating that.
