In an interview with KRLD-FM 105.3, The Fan, King said Romo reminded him of Cowboys quarterback legend Rodger Staubach—nickname Captain America.
"I've always liked him. It's amazing he's 35 years old. I'm blown away by it," King said. "Tony Romo seems like he's 27...he's just a good person who's handled being the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys to me in a very Staubach-ian way, a very cool way."
Staubach played for Dallas from 1969 until he retired in 1979, shortly before his 37th birthday. He led Dallas to five NFC Championships and two Superbowl wins. He was named to the Pro Bowl six times during his 11-year NFL career and entered the hall of fame in 1985.
Romo is entering his thirteenth season with Dallas. Although he's broken several records, was named to the Pro Bowl four times and led Dallas to three NFC Championships, he has yet to lead them to a Super Bowl.
