After the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 40-22 in Super Bowl LIX, there has been speculation that the champions may decline to visit the White House, following the re-election of President Donald Trump.

Per The Sun, an anonymous player said "pretty much everyone" decided they weren't going to accept the invitation to meet the President.
Ahead of the Super Bowl this sentiment was expressed by part of the ownership as well.
"We focus on the game for now, but if we win the Super Bowl, we wouldn't go to the White House."

That is, former Fox News media host Megyn Kelly took to social media to express her frustrations with the team she rooted for in the Super Bowl.
"SAME. GO F YOURSELVES EAGLES," Kelly posted on X in response to another user's tweet that read:
"Wish I had known this before the super bowl. I wouldn't have wasted my time rooting for them. Eagles fan? Your team sucks."
That is, according to reports, there has not been an official invite given out as of yet.
White House source: the Philadelphia Eagles have not rejected a White House invite. The reports that have gone viral on social media are fake news. The White House has not even sent the official invite to the Eagles yet.

To point out, in 2018 when the Eagles defeated the Patriots in Super Bowl LII, the team denied the 45th & 47th President's invite.
As notably, team owner Jeffrey Lurie has been known to fund Democratic presidential candidates and is not a fan of Trump to say the least.
"The Philadelphia Eagles are unable to come to the White House with their full team to be celebrated tomorrow," Trump said back then.
"They disagree with their President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country."
In view of the contrast between the Super Bowl teams, the Kansas City Chiefs have been outspoken in expressing their support for the U.S. Commander-in-Chief, as kicker Harrison Butker endorsed Trump ahead of the 2024 election, while tight end Travis Kelce said it's a "great honor" to play in front of the President.
Then, Patrick Mahomes' wife Brittany, and his mom Randi, as well as the Chiefs ownership have been known to be Trump supporters.
To point out, there is a chance Trump won't invite the Eagles also, as this happened with the Golden State Warriors following the team's 2017 NBA Finals championship.
