Report: Dallas Mavericks’ Anthony Davis May Be Done For Season, After Kyrie Irving’s Torn ACL Injury Diagnosis

Following the blockbuster Luka Doncic for Anthony Davis trade that took place one month ago, AD has only suited up for one game in a Dallas Mavericks uniform.

In his debut, on February 8, Davis played 31 minutes for the Mavs, putting up 26 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists, and 3 blocks before suffering a left abductor strain in a 116-105 win vs. the Rockets.

And now on March 3, the team lost their other co-star Kyrie Irving, who suffered a torn ACL vs. the Kings.

That is, with Kyrie out for the season, it appears the Mavericks will have a decision to make.

ESPN's Shams Charania reported, "I think him [Davis], his representatives are gonna huddle up. I think they're gonna have some very hard conversations. It's not out of the realm of possibility that one game was the last time we've seen AD this season."

In view of Kyrie's heavy usage in the month of February, many believe this led to an increase of injury.

To point out, with Luka traded and Davis out, 32-year-old Irving averaged 39.3 minutes over his last 10 games, having the most minutes played in the NBA from February 4 to March 2.

Notably, Dallas has been riddled with injuries, as they also lost Daniel Gafford (MCL sprain) and Derek Lively II (ankle), along with Jaden Hardy (ankle) and P.J. Washington (ankle) OUT as well.

Currently, the Mavericks have a 32-30 record, which has them currently as the No. 10 seed play-in position in the Western Conference.

Yet, without Kyrie, there seems to be little hope for Dallas to make a postseason run this year.

If Davis does return, he would presumably be a one-man show on the court.
