LA Sparks Star Cameron Brink Has Been ‘Icked Out’ By Male Practice Player Tryouts: ‘Preferably They Are Gay’

With the WNBA 2025 season right around the corner, the Los Angeles sparks announced earlier last week that they will be holding "male practice player tryouts," and as a result this has led to many guys expressing their interest in getting an opportunity. However, the male eagerness to play against the team's star players, such as Cameron Brink, Rickea Jackson, and Kelsey Plum, has led to some worry among the WNBA players.

While appearing on her podcast show, "Straight to Cam," Brink expressed a feeling of awkwardness when talking about the upcoming tryout.

"I guess my confession is, I'm really icked out by the potential male practice players," Brink said. "All the comments are like let Cameron Brink back me down... preferably they're gay."

The women on the show said that they would feel more comfortable if the men went through some sort of workplace environment training beforehand.

As Brink questioned, "Who are we trusting coming into this gym?"

The former No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft went on to say, "I'm not boxing anyone out, but Lynne [Roberts] our new coach is gonna be screaming at me for not rebounding... But I'm not boxing out anyone."

In view of Brink's rookie season last year, in 22 minutes per game, she put up 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, to go with 2.3 blocks and 1.1 steals, before ultimately suffering a season-ending injury.

That is, as the Sparks prepare for this upcoming season, Brinks and her newly engaged boyfriend, Ben Felter, probably both prefer the men she goes against at practice are gay.
