Steelers’ DK Metcalf And Normani Engaged, Due To Former Teammate Playing ‘Cupid’

Being traded to the Pittsburgh Steelers wasn't the biggest thing to happen in DK Metcalf's life this offseason, as the former Seahawks wide receiver announced he has just gotten engaged to Normani, former member of the girl group Fifth Harmony.

During Metcalf's introduction press conference, since signing his five-year/$150 million contract with the Steelers, he was heard telling his significant other, "Hold that rock up, baby."

Metcalf was asked about how he popped the question.

"My family and her family were in Houston, it was my sister's spring break, and I just thought about getting the whole family together for a big kumbaya and joining our families with the ring," he said.

In view of how the two-time Pro Bowler proposed, Metcalf provided the details.

"I started sending her flowers with a story and then the last letter on the flower was 'Will you marry me?' And she said 'yes.'"

To point out, Metcalf's former Seahawks quarterback, Russell Wilson, who also played with the Steelers last season, is credited with introducing the couple.

Well technically Russell's singer wife, Ciara, is known to be Cupid.

"If you could trust a couple [to set you up], that would be the couple," Normani said in a June 2024 interview.

As for when the All-Pro NFL wideout knew the singer was the one, apparently it was from watching her 'Motivation' music video.

"Me and Ciara are really close, and Russell and DK were teammates on the Seattle Seahawks," Normani told Vogue. "About two years before we met, they were playing music videos in the locker room and 'Motivation' ended up appearing on the screen."

And Metcalf said, "The moment I saw you appear on that screen, I said: 'That will be my wife. This gonna be my girlfriend one day.' I was in a relationship at the time, and then things just happened..."

The newly acquired Steelers wide receiver told the New York Times, "I don't know many words other than great. I found a new home here. I found a new fiancée. Everything is just falling in line just the way God planned."
