NFL Draft Teams Wearing Coral-Colored Shirts To Honor Wife Of Colts Scout Who Passed Away

On Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft, many team personnel in draft rooms were noticeably wearing pink-colored shirts (now identified as coral). That is, now it has been revealed that these shirts were worn in honor of Indianapolis Colts Director of College Scouting Matt Terpening's wife, Coral, who recently passed away.

The shirts had a message across the front: "Your light lives on in all of us."

Colts GM Chris Ballard opened his pre-draft press conference earlier this week, by giving his condolences to Coral's loved ones.

"It was a hard week for all of us. Our prayers go out to Matt and his two daughters. It was a hard week. The light was watching a community of Westfield come out to support this family - watch the organization support the Terpening family [in honor of Coral]. Our prayers go out to all of them. It was a hard week. It was a hard week, and something we had to work through, something we'll never get over. We'll get through it. We'll always be here for all of them."

Terpening's daughters, Stella and Gwyneth, were present in the Colts' draft room on Saturday, where a ceremony for their mother took place.

And other teams across the league wore the Coral shirts to show their solidarity with the Terpening family.

NFL draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah said:

"It's our way of giving Terp a hug,"
