All 32 teams passed on drafting Shedeur Sanders in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and this was a surprise to many, including the Colorado quarterback himself.

That is, in Round 2 of the draft Shedeur received a call, which he thought was from an NFL team.
"This is Mickey Loomis here, general manager of the Saints. It's been a long wait, man. We're gonna take you with our next pick right here, man."
Sanders responded, "Yes sir, let's be legendary," as captured in a video posted by Well Off Media, a YouTube channel managed by Shedeur's brother, Deion Sanders Jr.
However, the caller confused Shedeur when he ended the call saying, "But you're gonna have to wait a little bit longer, man. Sorry about that," before hanging up.

After catching on to the prank, later on Sanders was heard saying, "Nobody has that number but coaches, strictly for that reason. Why get mad? They want you to have a certain type of reaction to it. They want you to feel bad. But I ain't trippin'."
Considering Shedeur's phone was only for NFL personnel though, everyone was wondering how someone got his phone number.

And now it has been revealed who was behind the prank call... a couple of college kids, with one of them allegedly being Jax Ulbrich, the son of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator, Jeff Ulbrich.
Notably, Jax is a running back for Berry College, a private school in Georgia, and has since deleted his Instagram after being identified in the now viral video.
Rumor has it that Jax Ulbrich, son of Falcons DC Jeff Ulbrich, was behind the Shedeur Sanders prank call.

To note, there actually ended up being five quarterbacks taken ahead of Sanders, who was ranked as a top 2 QB going into the draft.
No. 1 Cam Ward (Tennessee Titans), No. 25 Jaxson Dart (New York Giants), No. 40 Shough, No. 92 Jalen Milroe (Seattle Seahawks), and No. 94 Dillon Gabriel (Cleveland Browns).
Ultimately, Shedeur was drafted in the fifth round (No. 144th pick) by the Browns, who nearly selected back-to-back QB's.

Although this historical NFL draft slide was shocking and seemingly a bit demoralizing, Shedeur kept his head up all throughout hearing 143 players being selected before him.
Thank you GOD
