Some things you just can't script. Michael Penix Jr.'s press conference on Wednesday was supposed to be about football, not a typo. But that's what happened when a Savannah, Georgia CBS affiliate accidentally replaced the "x" in Penix's last name with an "s" on its on-screen graphic.

The result was "Michael Penis Jr." — and, well, you can imagine how quickly the clip spread.
Penix, entering his second year as the Atlanta Falcons' starting quarterback, was meeting with reporters after a joint practice with the Tennessee Titans. The former Washington star was actually discussing a mid-practice fight when the graphic aired, but most viewers never got past the spelling blunder.

The skirmish started after Penix completed a deep pass to Ray-Ray McCloud III. A little jawing with Titans defenders escalated into shoving, and soon players from both sidelines were rushing in. Penix wound up in the middle of the pile.
"I don't know where I was at in it," he said. "It was a lot of people. I knew I was down there somewhere."
Drake London had to be pulled away by teammates, while McCloud and several other Falcons players made sure Penix was protected. "It was good to know those guys had my back," Penix said.
Whether the typo was an innocent mistake or the product of an inside joke, it's safe to say Penix has heard his name twisted before. But even he probably didn't expect it to happen on live television.
